Tips To Make Your CV More Attractive That will Get You Job

Published

on

We all know how vital it is to make ourselves stand out and be impressive in a world where only the fittest survives. The one thing that can help you achieve this is having a “Perfect Resume”. Let’s see a few tips to make your cv more attractive.

To have a good resume/CV becomes important not only when you are applying for a job but from the very instant where you need to apply for an internship or a training program. This definitely can’t be done overnight and needs a lot of homework for it to speak really well for you.

Thinking why bother so much when you can simply swindle a template off the internet and add in your own details like that Turkish chef? Well, that’s bad cause the employers almost always have a very good eye to look out for such plagiarized resumes and you won’t even stand a chance.

Instead of embarrassing yourself start building your own perfect CV with this article.

Get The Basics Right

tips to make your cv more attractive

Avoid using fancy designer resume templates unless you are actually applying for a job in graphic designing. Make sure you use a simple format with a simple font, bullet points, readable font size, bold headings, and perfect indentation. Double check to remove any spelling or grammatical errors. Readability and zero errors alone is as good as winning half the battle! Also ensure that the recruiter has the possibility of quick glancing your document.

Customise Your Resume

tips to make your cv more attractive

Your resume is literally you in a few pages. Understand how effective that needs to be? The underlined point is that your CV is all about quality. When you have decided to send out your CV to a lot of companies, never just make the “office name” change and click send. Got through the different job descriptions really well, take time to make significant alterations and use the appropriate keywords.

Keep the CV completely factual. It is your CV, so make it look like one.No recruiter would appreciate it if a candidate fails to demonstrate at least some of the skills mentioned in his/her CV during the interview.

Focus On The Experience

The main focus in your CV  has to be on your experience, starting with your last job all the way down to your first. Keep in mind that if you are someone with over a decade of experience in different companies then you need to remove less important roles you’ve been in, and highlight the prominent ones. We aren’t righting an autobiography. Well, if you are a fresher then you have to manage this section with your educational background and achievements.

  • Person 2: Initiated and managed tracking systems used for the Green District water decontamination project, saving $125,000 on the overall project through a 30% decrease of staff allocation time.Person 2 gets hired most of the times. Clarity is the key.

Add A Cover Letter

tips to make your cv more attractive

It is always better to include a cover letter whether you are asked for one or not. Strictly, NO ESSAYS. Add a super crisp note on why the HR needs to have a look at your CV and what you have got to offer.

This needs to be motivating enough for the recruiter to open your CV. Now, calculate the efforts you need to put into this.

Wishing you all the very best on your job hunt from all of us at TEB!
